One-match ban for seven Premier League players

Seven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Clive Brincat (Balzan), Predrag Jovic (Birkirkara), Steve Pisani (Floriana), Mark Scerri and Stefano Bianciardi (Sliema), Godwin Mckay (St. Andrews) and Leandro Aguirre (Valletta) are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Brincat and Pisani are ruled out out of Floriana vs Balzan, Jovic skips the game against Hamrun, Scerri and Bianciardi will miss the next Sliema game against Gzira, Mckay the clash with Tarxien and Aguirre the game against bottom-placed Pembroke.

Meanwhile Arilson Mello da Silva (Mqabba), Michael Camilleri (Qormi), Joseph Caruana (Rabat), Juninho Cabral (Senglea) were suspended for one match in Division 1.

In Division 2, Kurt Zahra (Attard) was banned for three matches, Matthew Bajada (Attard) for two matches while Gabriel Buttigieg (Attard), John Micallef (Birzebbuga), Nigel Vella (Ghaxaq), Fabian Axisa and Tristan Nappa Licari (Mellieha), Nikolai Muscat (San Gwann), Kim Buhagiar (Siggiewi), Mattia Mentosa (St. George’s) and Clint Farrugia (Zejtun). Gudja team manager George Grech was banned for two matches and Attard kit-manager Edward Catania was suspended for one match.

Christopher Cuschieri (Kalkara), Mario Zammit (Msida), Emmanuel Cutajar (Santa Lucia), Miguel Agius and Gilmore Buttigieg (Ta’ Xbiex), Christian Zammit (Xghajra) and Josef Felice (Zurrieq) were all banned for one match in Division 3.
