Floriana goalkeeper Matthew Grech has been called up to the Malta Under-21 squad for the 2019 UEFA Under-21 Championship Group Six qualifying match against Belgium on Monday.
Malta Under-21 coach Silvio Vella has decided to rope Grech into the squad after Philip Schranz, of Tarxien Rainbows, suffered an injury during the 5-0 defeat to Luxembourg in a friendly match on Thursday.
Grech is due to fly to Belgium early on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Malta Under-21 squad visited Dar Malta in Brussels.
The MFA contingent, led by Vice-President Alex Manfrè, was greeted by Ray Azzopardi, Malta’s Ambassador for Belgium.
