Women’s national team defeats Kosovo

Malta defeated Kosovo 3-1 in the last match from Group 2 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Preliminary Round mini-tournament at the Selman Stermazi Stadium in Tirana on Tuesday. A win which however places Malta in third place following a narrow defeat to Greece in the first outing and a goalless draw with group winners Albania in the second match.

Rachel Cuschieri put Malta ahead on the 12th minute, Jade Flask doubled the score on the 27th and captain Dorianne Theuma made it 3-0 on the 38th. Kosovo scored a consolation goal thanks to Blerta Shala ten minutes from time.
