Gharb Rangers drop important points

Gharb Rangers dropped two important points in the race for the championship in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division after being held in a 3-3 draw by Munxar Falcons at the Gozo Stadium on Tuesday.

Goals by Oliver Curmi on the 12th and Michael Mattias Uzor six minutes later gave Munxar a two-goal lead. Oliver Farrugia pulled one back on the 29th and a minute later, Andrew Ofulue converted a penalty to equalise. Four minutes from time, an own goal put Munxar ahead but another own goal deep into stoppage time, this time for Gharb, restored equilibrium.

In another match, Qala Saints defeated Zebbug Rovers 7-1. Dario Zamora was the hero for the Saints with goals on the 15th, 59th, 62nd and 63rd with Brian Meilak scoring on the 54th, Luke Meilak on the 55th and Christoph Caruana on the 83rd. Chris Borg scored a consolation goal for the Rovers nine minutes from time.
