Balzan FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Vladimir Simovic to the position of Sporting Director and General Manager.

President Anton Tagliaferro said “I am pleased to announce that Vladimir has joined us from Red Star Belgrade to our newly created position of full time Sporting Director and General Manager. Vladimir will be responsible for working closely with me as well as with the first team coach and Academy head coach helping with things such as player selection for the club as well as helping us to improve many tactical and technical aspects at the club. Vladimir will also work closely with me and be responsible for many aspects in the day to day management of the club and ensure things work smoothly in my absence.”

“Vladimir has extensive professional football experience and I am delighted to have recruited such a high calibre person to the position in my ambition to help take the club to a higher level. Not only is Vlad well versed in most things football related thanks to his previous experiences as a senior football agent and at Red Star Belgrade. Thanks to having studied an MBA and a Bachelor in Economics from when he studied in the US, Vlad is also a well trained professional business person – makes him very well qualified to also fulfil his role as General Manager.”

“I am delighted to have been appointed as Sporting Director and General Manager of an ambitious Maltese club like Balzan FC. Balzan has made big strides in the last few years to become one of the leading Premier Division teams in Malta,” said Vladimir Simovic.

“The Balzan Academy has also achieved Elite status in the new trial system put in place by the MFA. We have many promising players coming through and my job is to help these boys become more complete football players and to help the club reach new highs in the years ahead. Having worked in professional football for many years, I am looking forward to working with everyone at the club to help take Balzan FC to the next stage of its development,” added Simovic.
