Eight Premier League players suspended

Eight Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Alan da Silva Souza (Balzan), Miguel Angel Alba and Srdjan Dimitrov (Birkirkara), Sebastian Ricardo Nayar (Floriana), Karl Micallef (Hamrun), Pedro dos Santos Calcado (Mosta), Daren Falzon (Pembroke) and Ziga Kastrevec (St. Andrews) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches

The Stripes could not count on Alba and Dimitrov for the game against Gzira; Alan Da Silva and Karl Micallef are ruled out of Balzan vs Hamrun, Nayar and Pedrinho will miss the clash between Mosta and Floriana; Daren Falzon skips the clash with Sliema while Kastrevec is ruled out of the game against Hibernians.

In Division 1, Mino Sota (Gharghur), Luke Scorfna (Marsa), Goran Adamovic (Mqabba), Alan Abela (Qormi), Chavaughn Nicholas McLaren (Sirens) and Andre Farrugia (Vittoriosa) were all suspended for one match.

Clayton Caruana (Qrendi) was banned for one match in Division 2 while in Division 3, Danijel Vasic (Sta. Venera) and Carmelo Caruana (Zurrieq) were banned for one match while Dingli team manager Marco Buttigieg was suspended for two matches.
