Pedro dos Santos Calcado notched a hat-trick as Mosta came from behind to beat Pembroke Athleta 4-2 at the National Stadium on Friday to condemn them to playing in Division 1 next season. The Blues, on the other hand, secure the play-off spot and will be facing First Division side Qormi on Friday.

Pembroke took the lead nine minutes from the end of the first half when they were awarded a penalty after Kurt Magro brought Raphael Kooh Sohna down inside the area and from the penalty spot, Stevan Racic converted.

Six minutes in the second half, Mosta levelled matters thanks to Njongo Priso whose powerful shot beat goalkeeper Mattehw Calleja Cremona when served on the left by Kurt Magro.

The Blues forged ahead on the 63rd minute thanks to Pedro dos Santos Calcado whose low shot from the left beat the Pembroke goalkeeper following a cross by Kurt Magro and a header by Hengbart was blocked by Calleja Cremona.

Five minutes later, Pedrinho added another with another low shot from just inside the area when served by Mifsud Triganza.

Tonci Radovinkovic was unlucky to hit the crossbar for Pembroke on the 73rd minute with a shot from inside the area.

However on the 75th minute, Mosta were awarded a penalty after Calleja Cremona was adjudged to have floored Kurt Magro inside the area and from the penalty spot, Pedrinho converted.

In added time, Pembroke reduced the gap thanks to Raphael Kooh Sohna who headed the ball home from close range following a corner from the left.

Meanwhile at the Hibernians Stadium, Sliema Wanderers defeated Balzan 2-1.

Denni Rocha dos Santos put the Wanderers ahead on the 19th minute when served by Jean Paul Farrugia and rounding a defender.

On the 34th minute, Sliema doubled the score thanks to Gabriel Aquilina following a cross from the left by Ricardo Correa. Alfred Effiong pulled one back for Balzan on the 73rd minute.

Alex Muscat was unlucky not to increase the lead ten minutes in the second half but his attempt hit the crossbar.
