Birkirkara and Gozo will be contesting the Women’s Under-17 Knock-Out after both emerged as winners in the two semi-finals at the Kirkop Ground on Sunday.
The Stripes defeated Tarxien Rainbows 5-3 after extra-time. Sarah Urpani put Birkirkara ahead but a brace by Jessica Dimech turned the score in the favour of Tarxien. However Veronique Mifsud levelled matters to restore equilibrium and force extra-time. In extra-time, a goal by Sarah Urpani and a brace by Veronique Mifsud pur Birkirkara in the final.
In the other semi-final, champions Gozo defeated Raiders (Luxol) 3-1. Valentina Rapa put Gozo ahead and although Lara Micallef equalised, a brace by Maria Farrugia gave Gozo a comfortable win.
The final will be played on Sunday 28 at the Kirkop Ground, kick-off at 10:00.
