Malta FA to organise Level 1 Goalkeepers’ Course in June

The Malta FA Technical Centre is organising a Level One Goalkeepers’ Course between June 13 and 21.

The course will cover different facets of goalkeeper training, including defensive theory and exercises – shot stopping and crosses, movement preparation, goal setting and offensive theory and moves – distribution and receiving backpasses.

Charles Sciberras, the national team’s goalkeepers head coach who recently obtained the UEFA Pro licence, is co-ordinating the course which includes both theoretical and practical sessions.

Sciberras will be assisted by Stephen Grima, the MFA director of coaching education, Luca Pagani, the MFA performance head coach, and goalkeeper trainers Simon Agius and Roger Camilleri.

Applicants for this course must be in possession of a National C Coaching certificate or a higher qualification.

Applications are to reach the Malta FA Technical Centre by not later than Monday, May 29.
