Zoran Popovic appointed Valletta FC coach

Valletta FC have appointed Zoran Popovic as their new Head Coach. The 52-year old Serbian coach will be signing the contract with the club in the coming days as the team starts preparation for the UEFA Europa League commitments.

Popovic had already coached Floriana FC in season 2007/08 but stepped down mid-way through the season. He coached FK Cukaricki in the Serbian Liga in season 2015/16 and last January was appointed coach of Saham Club in Oman.

In a statement, Valletta FC announced that the committee had accepted the decision of coach Paul Zammit to step down from his post after sending a letter of resignation on Friday 26th May.

Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha thanked Zammit for his work over the past two years, helping the club to win the BOV Premier League in 2015/16 and the Super Cup last December apart from leading the team to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League last summer.

The club wished Zammit all the very best for his future.
