International officials Alan Mario Sant as referee, Luke Portelli and Christopher Francalanza as assistant referees, together with other FIFA officials from France, Greece, Romania, Czech Republic, Scotland, Angola and Japan, this past week took charge of various matches of the 45th Festival International Espoirs Provence – Tournoi Maurice Revello, also known as the Toulon Tournament, contested by national youth teams of England, Czech Republic, France, Scotland, Wales – UEFA; Angola and Ivory Coast – CAF; Bahrain, Indonesia and Japan – AFC; Brasil – CONMEBOL and Cuba – CONCACAF.

After being involved on every matchday in the group stage (a total of three), the Maltese team controlled the match for third and fourth place won by Scotland against the Czech Republic.

The tournament saw the participation also of Referee Committee member Stephen Mallia, who apart from being referee observer in several matches – including last Saturday’s 10th instant Final won by England against Ivory Coast, in Stade de Lattre, Aubagne – formed part of the Refereeing Commission with Messrs Michel Vautrot from France and Michel Piraux from Belgium.
