FC Chiasso complete Jean Paul Farrugia move

Swiss Challenge League side FC Chiasso completed the transfer of Malta international striker Jean Paul Farrugia. This will be Jean Paul Farrugia’s second experience abroad after playing for Spartak Trnava in Slovakia.

A product of Hibernians, Farrugia made his Premier League debut with the Paolites in season 2008/09 and has been playing for the Paolites since then apart from a one-year loan spell with Marsaxlokk in season 2011/12. Injuries ruled him out for most of seasons 2009/10 and 2010/11. However in summer 2014, he moved to Spartak Trnava where he had a six-month spell. He returned to Malta and joined Hibernians but moved to Sliema Wanderers on loan in the latter part of season 2015/16. Last summer, he re-joined the Blues on a definite transfer.

Farrugia played for all youth national teams and made his senior national team debut in June 2014 against Gibraltar.
