UEFA has appointed Maltese international referee Alan Mario Sant to control the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg qualifier between Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic) and Skenderbeu (Albania), due to be played in the Czech Republic on Thursday.

This is a historic appointment for Sant as since his appointment as FIFA Referee in 2010, to date, this has been the highest in terms of advanced rounds of the competition.

He will be accompanied by FIFA Assistants Roberto Vella and Luke Portelli as well as Elite Referee Malcolm Spiteri as Fourth Official.
