Gzira United sign Amadou Samb, Gary Muir

In their bid to strenghten the squad, Gzira United secured the services of Senegalese striker Amadou Samb and Scottish midfielder Gary Muir.

Twenty-nine year old Amadou Samb moved to Italy at an eary age, signing for A.S.D. Forza & Costanza. He later played for Monza, Chievo Verona, Cremonese, Lumezzane, Hellas Verona and following a spell with KF Teuta in Albania, joined Floriana in summer 2014. With the Greens, he had a successful 2014/15 season. He returned to Malta last summer to play for Floriana once again.

After starting his career with Patrick Thistle and playing for Greenock Morton in Scotland and Louisburg College and University of Hartford in the USA, thirty-one year old Gary Muir played for Stirling, Clyde and Airdrie United in Scotland, Lisburn and Ballymena in Northern Ireland, Antigua GFC in Guatemala before moving to Malta in 2012 to join Vittoriosa Stars. In summer 2013, he moved to Floriana but joined Sliema Wanderers in summer 2015. Last January, he was transferred to Birkirkara.

The Maroons had earlier secured the services of Nikolai Muscat from San Gwann, Luca Brincat from Sliema Wanderers, Zack Scerri from Hibernians, goalkeeper Tony Curmi from Tarxien and twenty-six year old Nigerian striker Emmanuel Ndubuisi Okoye. Before moving to Malta, Okoye played for Vyzas and Panionios in Greece, Aris Limassol and Paphos in Cyprus and Marbella in Spain.
