Luxol win again to move closer to UEFA Futsal Cup main round spot

Luxol St. Andrews Futsal Club moved a step closer towards securing a place in the main round of the UEFA Futsal Cup after they registered a second win in Group C of the Preliminary Round at the Sporthalle Europagymnasium Linz-Auhof in Linz, Austria, defeating KMF Shkupi 1927 of FYR Macedonia 9-2 on Thursday.

A draw from the last game against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Saturday would be enough for Luxol to make history by booking a place in the main round which will be played in October.

Celino Alves put Luxol ahead and Kristijan Grbeša doubled the score but Erkan Seferi pulled one back for Shkupi. However Celino Alves, Emil Raducu and Hrvoje Penava extended the lead for Frane Despotović’s side before half-time.

Nikola Perković made it 6-1 for Luxol and although Dragan Petrović scored a second goal for Shkupi, Grbeša and a brace by Zvezdan Vuković gave the Maltese champions a 9-2 win.

The Luxol squad is made up of: Kenneth Rakvaag, Celino Alves, Mark Zammit, Hrvoje Penava, Emil Răducu, Clint Mifsud, Kristijan Grbeša, William Barbosa, Rogerinho, Giancarlo Sammut, Glenn Bonello, Andy Mangion, Zvezdan Vuković and Nikola Perković
