Stripes chase first win as they take on Gzira

Birkirkara will be aiming for their first win on Saturday as they take on Gzira United in one of the three matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium and Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Sliema Wanderers face Naxxar Lions while Mosta take on Lija Athletic in the other two matches.
Gzira United vs Birkirkara, kick-off 18:30 at Centenary Stadium
Following a 1-1 draw with Floriana last week, Birkirkara will be aiming for a first win as they take on Gzira United. However this will be no easy task as the Maroons are coming from a comfortable 4-0 win over Lija Athletic in their first outing and target another positive result from this clash.

Edmond Agius is ruled out for Birkirkara as he serves a one-match ban. Cameroonian defender Sem Ogolong Kaman could make his debut for Gzira after joining the club earlier this week.

Naxxar Lions vs Sliema Wanderers, kick-off 20:45 at Centenary Stadium
After being held in a draw by Senglea last week, Sliema Wanderers will be all out to register their first win as they take on another newly-promoted side – Naxxar Lions. The Lions, on the other hand, are coming from a 0-2 defeat to Balzan last week.

This was a busy week for the Wanderers as they signed four new players, namely, Croatian central defender Nikola Gavric, attacking midfielder Seck Serigne Saliou Mbacke and two strikers – Brazilian Jefferson Mateus De Assis Estacio and Senegalese Pape Babacar N’Doye.

Mosta vs Lija Athletic, kick-off 19:00 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
The clash between Mosta and Lija Athletic puts against each other two teams who lost their first game as the Blues suffered a narrow defeat to Valletta and the newly-promoted side lost 0-4 to Gzira United.

Earlier this week, Mosta secured the services of Leonardo Henrique Ferreira from Floriana. Lija could not count on the suspended Patrick Borg.
