Stoppage-time heartbreak for Under-21 side in Cyprus

The Malta Under-21 side was seconds away from earning a point at the AEK Arena in Larnaca as Cyprus came from behind to win 2-1 in a match from Group 6 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers on Friday.

Jean Borg put Malta ahead on the 34th minute but seven minutes later, Rafael Anastasiou levelled matters. The game seemed heading for a draw but three minutes in added time, substitute Thodoros Iosifidis notched the winner for the hosts.

Malta will be in action once again on Tuesday in another qualifier against Hungary at the Gyirmóti Stadion in Gyor
