BOV Division 1: Comfortable win for Pietà Hotspurs

Pietà Hotspurs kicked-off their commitments with a most comfortable 4-0 win over Rabat Ajax at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in one of the three BOV First Division matches in programme on Monday.

Lawrence Chiedozie was the hero for the Hotspurs with a hat-trick as he put them ahead on the 27th, doubled the score on the 58th and following a goal by Neil Pace Cocks on the 66th, he added another on the 79th.

Zejtun Corinthians scored two goals in the dying minutes to rescue a point in a most dramatic 3-3 draw with Qrendi at the Centenary Stadium. Bjorn Bondin converted a penalty to put Qrendi ahead on the 8th minute and three minutes later, Dhonathan Santos da Hora doubled the score. Saturday Nanapere pulled one back on the 16th but Dassier Sammut restored a two-goal lead on the 37th. However Paul Lapira reduced the score on the 90th and two minutes in added time, Neil Tabone notched the equaliser.

In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Zabbar St. Patrick and Pembroke Athleta shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Kurt Borg put the Saints ahead on the 15th minute but Glenn Azzopardi equalised on the 79th.
