BOV Division 2: Second win for Swieqi United

Swieqi United are the only team with maximum points after two matches after defeating Luqa St. Andrew’s 3-1 in one of the four matches from the BOV Second Division on Sunday.

At the Sirens Stadium, Roderick Taliana put Swieqi ahead on the 19th minute and although Gabriel Buttigieg equalised on the 62nd, a brace by Sadat Suraka on the 72nd and 89th handed Swieqi the three points.

In another match at the Sirens Stadium, Gudja United and Kalkara earned their first point in a 1-1 draw. Nicholas Zammit gave Gudja an early lead on the 1st minute but Beppe Antignolo was quick to level matters for Kalkara on the 7th minute.

At the Luxol Stadium, Siggiewi rescued a point with a last-minute goal in the clash with Attard. Kurt Zahra put Attard ahead two minutes from the end of the first half and Mark Camilleri equalised on the 90th minute.

In another match, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s scored twice in the final ten minutes to defeat Santa Lucia 2-0. Paul Camilleri opened the score on the 80th minute and Didier Sohna made it 2-0 three minutes in added time.

Swieqi lead the way with 6 points, followed by Birzebbuga and Siggiewi on 4, St. George’s, Luqa and Santa Lucia 3, Fgura 2, Gudja, Marsaxlokk, Kalkara, Attard, Gharghur and Mgarr 1.
