BOV Division 1: Sole leadership for Qormi as Pembroke hit four past Pietà

Pietà Hotspurs dropped their first points in the BOV First Division as they suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat to Pembroke Athleta in one of the two matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium.

Njongo Priso converted a penalty to put Pembroke ahead on the 16th minute and ten minutes later, John Nwoba doubled the score. Warren Chircop made it 3-0 three minutes in the second half and Lee Grech added another on the 62nd minute.

Meanwhile Qormi take sole leadership as they registered a 3-0 win over Zabbar St. Patrick. Jose Lucas Caetano da Silva put Qormi ahead on the 16th minute. Michael Camilleri converted a penalty on the 20th minute and the same player added another ten minutes in the second half.

Qormi lead the way with 9 points, followed by Pietà on 6, Zabbar, Zejtun, Vittoriosa and Mqabba 4, Sirens and Zebbug 3, Qrendi and San Gwann 2, Marsa, Rabat and Melita 0 and Pembroke -5. Pembroke had a ten-point deduction.
