St. George’s have two points deducted, lose Siggiewi clash 0-3

The Control and Disciplinary Board of the Malta Football Association found St. George’s guilty of the abandonment of the BOV Second Division game against Siggiewi last Sunday and apart from awarding the latter a 3-0 win, docked the Cospicua side two points.

St. George’s were also fined €250.

The BOV Second Division table now reads as follows: Santa Lucia 9 points, Fgura, Siggiewi and Birzebbuga 8, Swieqi and Kalkara 7, Mgarr 4, Luqa 3, Gudja, Marsaxlokk and Gharghur 2, Attard and St. George’s 1.

The match was abandoned on the 35th minute after St. George’s player Josef Dalli assaulted referee Shaun Calleja. Dalli was handed a three-year ban.
