Victoria Hotspurs maintain perfect record

Victoria Hotspurs registered a fourth win in as many matches in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division as they defeated neighbours SK Victoria Wanderers 2-0 in the derby at the Gozo Stadium on Friday.

Emiliano Lattes put the Hotspurs ahead three minutes from the end of the first half and three minutes later, Henrique Maciel doubled the score.

In another match on Friday, Nadur Youngsters defeated Oratory Youths 2-1. Dako Krstic gave Nadur a two-goal lead with goals on the 69th and 84th with Joshua Buttigieg reducing the gap one minute from time.

On Sunday, champions Xewija Tigers defeated Ghajnsielem 3-0 thanks to a brace by Claudio Antunes on the 15th and 77th and a goal by Joseph Azzopardi two minutes in added time.

In another match, Gharb Rangers held Kercem Ajax in a 1-1 draw. Ognjen Rolovic converted a penalty on the 19th minute to put Kercem ahead but just before half-time, Darko Stojanovic equalised for Gharb.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, St. Lawrence Spurs and Qala Saints shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Kercem Ajax Stadium.

Mohammed Senussi Telessi put the Spurs ahead on the 37th minute but four minutes later, Michael Mumford equalised and three minutes in the second half, Jake Mifsud made it 2-1 for Qala. Kenny Hili levelled matters nine minutes from time.

In another match, Zebbug Rovers defeated Sannat Lions 2-0 thanks to goals by Chris Borg on the 11th minute and Gibson Botshelo Mfulwane eight minutes from the end of the first half.
