Women’s Under-17 side loses 0-2 to Slovenia

The Malta women’s Under-17 side, led by Frank Schembri, lost 0-2 to Slovenia in the final match from Group 11 of the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship qualifiers at the NNC Brdo in Kranj on Sunday.

Ana Milovič put the hosts ahead on the 25th minute and ten minutes later, Vita Žolek doubled the score.

Malta ended its commitments without any points after losing 1-2 to Italy and 1-8 to Finland in the previous two matches. Italy won the tournament thanks to the largest number of goals scored in direct encounters as they finished on level points with Finland and Slovenia on the 5-point mark. In fact, the three teams had defeated Malta but then drew the other two matches.
