BOV Women’s League: B’Kara, Hibs maintain perfect record

“”Hibernians and Birkirkara maintained their perfect record in the BOV Women’s League as the Paolites registered their fourth win and the Stripes their third.

At the Charles Abela Stadium on Wednesday, Hibs defeated Kirkop United 3-0 thanks to a goal by Francesca Chircop on the 38th and Shona Zammit on the 44th and 74th.

On Tuesday, Birkirkara beat Fgura United 9-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Raina Giusti opened the score on the 9th minute and an own goal two minutes later paved the way for Birkirkara who scored a third through Alishia Sultana one minute from the end of the first half. In the second half, it was one-way traffic as Gabriella Zahra scored twice on the 48th and 57th, Stephania Farrugia made it 6-0 on th e62nd and five minutes later, Veronique Mifsud scored a seventh goal before Raina Giusti helped herself to another two goals on the 73rd and 79th.

At the Zebbug Ground, Raiders (Luxol) defeated Tarxien Rainbows 4-3 in a highly entertaining clash. Rodianne Zerafa gave Raiders an early lead, after just three minutes, but Kailey Willis equalised ten minutes later. Rodianne Zerafa converted a penalty on the 25th but Kailey Willis once again restored equilibrium six minutes later. However four minutes from the end of the first half, Leanne Micallef restored the lead for Raiders with Andy Zammit Mizzi increasing the lead on the 59th. Kailey Willis reduced the gap for Tarxien on the 64th.

Mgarr United defeated Mosta 3-0 in a match at the Mgarr Ground. Rebecca D’Agostino opened the score on the 5th minute. Amber Grech made it 2-0 twelve minutes in the second half and seven minutes from time, Rebecca D’Agostino sealed the issue with a third goal.
