Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Naxxar Lions goalkeeper Christoph Nicht was banned for two matches while Kurt Zammit and Lucas Maia Verone (Birkirkara), Guilherme Felipe de Castro (Hamrun), Rui Fernando da Gracia Gomes (Hibs), Antonio Terraciano and Hubert Vella (Senglea), Stefano Bianciardi and Jefferson Mateus de Assis Estacio (Sliema) were all suspended for one match.

Christoph Nicht skips the derby with Mosta and the clash with Senglea; Kurt Zammit and Lucas Maia are ruled out of Birkirkara’s clash with St. Andrews; Senglea could not count on Vella and Terraciano for the game against Balzan while Bianciardi and Jefferson Assis will miss Sliema’s clash with leaders Gzira. Guilherme Batata will miss Hamrun’s next game against Lija while Rui da Gracia is ruled out of the derby against Tarxien.

Lija Athletic coach Joseph Galea was banned for two matches.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Pembroke’s Kyle Gerada and Qormi’s Shamison Zammit were handed a three-match ban, Glenn Azzopardi (Pembroke) was suspended for two matches while Caio Henrique Alves de Souza (Pembroke), Neil Anthony Micallef (Marsa), Luke Busuttil (Qormi), Petar Mrvic (Qrendi), Christian Caruana (Sirens), Kurt Borg (Zabbar) and Filippo Andrea Scozzese (Zejtun) were all suspended for one match.

Zejtun kit manager Chris Mangion was banned for four matches and Pembroke kit-manager Godwin Gatt for two.

Radnor Farrugia (Luqa) and Wayne Chetcuti (Mgarr) were handed a one-match ban in Division 2 while in Division 3, Sean Attard (Msida) was suspended for four matches, Luca Mizzi (Kirkop) for two and Jordan Debattista (Mellieha) for one.
