Birkirkara test for Floriana

Fresh from their BOV Super Cup success over Hibernians, Floriana will be all out to claim the three points on Sunday as they take on Birkirkara in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium.

The Greens lost just one game this season and lie five points behind leaders Balzan and with a win over Birkirkara, they would move to just two points behind the leaders. They won four out of the last five matches, defeating Lija Athletic 6-0 last week.

Birkirkara, on the other hand, are in an unusual eighth place, seven points behind Floriana and after winning their last two matches against St. Andrews and Hamrun, they hope to obtain another positive result in their bid to climb further up the table

The two teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the first round.

Meanwhile after losing 0-1 to Balzan in their last league outing and 0-1 to Floriana in the BOV Super Cup, Hibernians cannot afford any result other than a win as they take on St. Andrews in the first match.

The Paolites are currently fifth, seven points behind the leaders, winning three out of the last five matches. St. Andrews, on the other hand, are second from bottom, having lost six out of the last seven matches.

Travis Blagrove is ruled out for St. Andrews as he serves a one-match ban but they welcome back Ricardo Martin.

In the first round, Hibs registered a comfortable 4-0 win.
