Leaders Mellieha and second-placed Sta. Venera Lightnings shared the spoils in a goalless draw in a top-of-the-table clash in the BOV Third Division at the Charles Abela Stadium on Saturday. Mellieha therefore stay two points clear of the Lightnings.

Meanwhile Xghajra Tornados missed the chance to join Sta. Venera in second place after being held in a 1-1 draw by Kirkop United. Michael Theuma converted a penalty two minutes from the end of the first half to put Kirkop ahead but three minutes in the second half, Noel Tabone equalised for Xghajra.

Mellieha lead the way with 25 points, followed by Sta. Venera on 23, Xghajra 21, Kirkop 17, Msida 15, Mdina 12, Zurrieq and Dingli 11, Ghaxaq 10, Marsaskala 7, Mtarfa 6 and Ta’ Xbiex 3.
