BOV Division 1: Qormi, Pietà return to winning ways

Qormi and Pietà Hotspurs both returned to winning ways in the BOV First Division in the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

In the first match, leaders Qormi defeated San Gwann 2-1. Michael Camilleri put Qormi ahead after just two minutes and although Godwin Blessing Henshaw equalised six minutes later, Jose Lucas Caetano da Silva notched the winner for Qormi on the 64th.

On the other hand, Pietà Hotspurs defeated challengers Zejtun Corinthians 3-1. Jan Busuttil put the Hotspurs ahead on the 29th minute and although Yessous Camilleri equalised three minutes in the second half, goals by Neil Pace Cocks on the 55th and 77th handed Ramon Zammit’s side the three points.

Qormi lead the way with 29 points, followed by Pietà on 27, Mqabba 25, Vittoriosa and Zebbug 21, Sirens and Zejtun 17, San Gwann 15, Qrendi 13, Melita 11, Zabbar 10, Pembroke and Marsa 7 and Rabat 4.
