Balzan FC are pleased to announce that former AC Milan player and Milan Academy coach Andrea Icardi is visiting Balzan FC to hold sessions with Balzan FC Academy over the next few days.

Balzan president Anton Tagliaferro said “Andrea has visited us on several occasions now. It is always a special time at our Academy when Andrea visits Balzan – the way he coaches and handles young players has always impressed and his passion for the game is really infectious.”

Andrea Icardi added “I always enjoy my visits to Malta. I have various Milan teams participating in tournaments in Italy for players in the 2004 to 2006 in April where my Milan teams will be playing the likes of Inter, Juventus and Sampdoria in tournaments in Montecatini and Margine Coperta. On my past visits to Malta, boys who trained with me at Balzan have been selected to play with my Milan teams in these tournaments and the Maltese boys have always done very well .”

Ludvic Bartolo concluded “It’s a busy time for Balzan Academy – with the Red Star coaches currently here training our under 19 and under 17 teams and Andrea looking after the younger age groups – but I think we are providing a fantastic opportunity for all players involved in these sessions to be coached and mentored by such great,professional youth coaches.”

The sessions will be held at the Balzan Ground on Saturday 13th for children born 2009 to 2011 between 08:15 and 09:30 and for those born 2007-2008 between 11:00 and 12:30 and at the St. Aloysius Ground on Sunday 14th for those born 2005 to 2006 between 08:00 and 09:30 and born 2004 between 09:30 and 11:00.
