Birkirkara make it five wins in a row

Birkirkara maintained their positive run as they registered a fifth consecutive win, defeating Mosta 3-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

A win which ensures the Stripes keep the pace with the top four teams. Mosta, on the other hand, remain joint-ninth on the 18-point mark together with Senglea.

With Ryan Scicluna ruled out as he served a one-match ban and with Ryan Camenzuli, Luke Montebello and Llywelyn Cremona starting to serve their long-term bans after being suspended by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, the Stripes were forced to make a number of changes from the team which defeated Gzira.

Birkirkara managed to take the lead on the 40th minute when off a cross by Jake Grech from the left, Srdjan Dimitrov headed home from close range past the Mosta goalkeeper.

Eleven minutes in the second half, the Stripes doubled the score when Bruno Andrade Fernandez de Brito controlled the ball outside the area and with a fine shot placed the ball in the bottom right corner.

Birkirkara sealed the issue with a third goal when off an assist from the right by Srdjan Dimitrov, Jake Grech tapped the ball home from close range.
