Joseph Mario Vella of Xewkija Tigers is the BOV GFA Player of the Month for December 2017.

Vella found the back of the net in Xewkija’s 4-0 win against Vittoriosa in the third round of the FA Trophy. The advanced midfielder also scored Xewkija’s first goal in their 3-2 win over SK Victoria Wanderers, a match from the BOV GFA League.

20 year old Vella, a Xewkija Tigers product, played for the first team at a very young age, and following a stint with St Lawrence Spurs, returned to the Tigers for the 2016-17 season and established himself in the Xewkija midfield despite numerous signings by the club.

Horace Laudi, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta presented the BOV GFA Player of the Month trophy for December 2017 to Joseph Mario Vella during one of the team’s training sessions. Vella chose Fondazzjoni Arka to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
