Women’s Under-16 side prove too strong for Gibraltar

The Malta women’s Under-16 national team registered a most comfortable 14-0 win over Gibraltar in a match from the UEFA Youth Under-16 Development Mini-Tournament at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.

At the end of the first half, Dorianne Theuma’s girls were already leading 9-0. Kailey Willis put Malta ahead on the 5th minute and three minutes later, Maia Debono doubled the score. Veronique Mifsud made it 3-0 on the 17th minute and a minute later, Kailey Willis scored the fourth goal. Maya Lucia scored the fifth goal on the 26th before Kailey Willis scored another three goals on the 29th, 33rd and 37th. On minute from the end of the first half, Maia Debono scored the ninth goal.

In the second half, Malta scored another five goals thanks to Emma Ciantar on the 46th minute and 68th and Maria Michela Cassar on the 47th, 49th and 73rd.

Meanwhile the other clash between Liechtenstein and Andorra ended with a 4-3 win for Andorra on penalties as the score at the end of the ninety minutes was still goalless.
