Solidarity Funds distributed to nurseries and member associations

During the distribution of the annual UEFA Solidarity Funds to nurseries Youth FA President Fr Hilary Tagliaferro said these funds were vital for the nurseries in their mission among youngsters.

Fr Hilary asked those present to think about what were the true values of football and stressed that administrators and coaches should be the role models for children attending the nurseries. He stressed that these children were the future of our society and therefore it was of utmost performance, not only to develop good footballers but good citizens with sound values. Fr Hilary added that sport should be a means of unity and should instil social responsibility in all stake holders.

The Youth FA announced that a survey will be held in order to analyse the current situation in youth football and how this could be further improved. Fr Hilary thanked the administrators for their hard work, the MFA, Global Security for the set of new trophies, Melita Unipol Insurance Brokers thanks to whom the YFA is offering an insurance policy for players and who are sponsoring the PlayFair Award, Sports Experience, Liquigas and sports journalists.

MFA General Secretary Dr Angelo Chetcuti said that as long as those working in nurseries are giving their utmost, the youngsters are those who would benefit. Dr Chetcuti stressed on the importance of nurseries taking the survey being carried out by the Youth FA seriously since they were the ones who have the true experience of what is happening at this level.
