After earning just one point from the last three matches, Xghajra Tornados bounced back with a 3-1 win over joint-leaders Mellieha in a match from the the BOV Third Division at the Charles Abela Stadium on Saturday.

Bryan Bautista put Mellieha ahead on the 17th but a brace by Royter Degiorgio on the 52nd and 75th and a goal by Clifton Piscopo five minutes from time handed Xghajra the three points.

In another match, Dingli Swallows defeated Ghaxaq 3-1. Dean Agius put Ghaxaq ahead on the 3rd minute but Luke Galea scored twice on the 72nd and 84th with Kayne Said sealing the issue four minutes from time.

Meanwhile the matches Msida SJ vs Santa Venera Lightnings and Ta’ Xbiex vs Marsaskala scheduled at the Sirens Stadium have been postponed. These will be rescheduled to a date still to be determined.

Sta. Venera and Mellieha lead the way with 35 points, followed by Xghajra on 28, Msida and Kirkop on 25, Mdina 20, Dingli 19, Zurrieq 18, Ghaxaq 16, Mtarfa 10, Marsaskala 7 and Ta’ Xbiex 5.
