Swieqi United regained the top spot in the BOV Second Division as they defeated Attard 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

Nicholas Schembri put Swieqi ahead nine minutes in the second half and Roderick Taliana doubled the score on the 68th minute.

Kalkara missed the opportunity to move fourth after losing 1-3 to Mgarr United in another match.

Following a goalless first half, Lazar Doric put Mgarr ahead on the 47th and two minutes later, Daniel Cremona doubled the score. Timothy Thomas converted a penalty to reduce the gap on the 83rd minute but deep into stoppage time, Jamie Lee Micallef sealed the issue for Mgarr.

Swieqi lead the way with 36 points, followed by Gudja and Fgura on 33, Santa Lucia and Siggiewi 31, Marsaxlokk and Kalkara 29, Birzebbuga 26, Mgarr 22, Luqa 15, Attard 10, St. George’s 9 and Gharghur 3.
