Marsa claimed three precious points as they defeated Sirens 3-1 in one of the two matches in programme on Sunday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
Luka Mijic gave Marsa a two-goal lead thanks to goals on the 35th and 47th. Rafael de Fex Mariaga increased the lead on the 56th with Ryan Previ reducing the gap on the 74th.
In another match, San Gwann registered their fifth consecutive win as they beat Zabbar St. Patrick 4-2. Godwin Henshaw put San Gwann ahaed on the 8th minute and Sergio Hili doubled the score on the 13th. Kurt Borg pulled one back onthe 27th as he converted a penalty and Christian Stewart equalised on the 35th. However San Gwann regained the lead through a Mario Arieta penalty on the 67th and ten minutes later, Sergio Hili sealed the issue with a fourth goal.
Qormi lead the way with 43 points, followed by Pietà and Mqabba on 37, Zebbug 34, Zejtun 32, San Gwann 30, Vittoriosa 27, Qrendi 23, Sirens 21, Pembroke 20, Zabbar 19, Marsa 15, Melita 13 and Rabat 5. Pembroke had ten points deducted.
