Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Steve Pisani (Floriana), Andrei Agius (Hibs), Patrick Borg (Lija), Kurt Magro (Mosta), Jonathan Bondin (Senglea) and Matthew Robert Gauci (St. Andrews) are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Agius and Borg are ruled out of Hibs vs Lija, Steve Pisani misses the game against Naxxar, Magro the clash with Balzan, Bondin the game against Gzira and Gauci the clash with Valletta.

In Division 1, Mark Camilleri (Marsa), Julian Abela (Melita), Owen Bugeja (Pembroke), Alessio Cassar (Qormi), Zachary Tanti (Rabat), Shawn Cesare (Zabbar), Francesco Gusman (Zebbug), Brooke Farrugia, Clayton Giordimaina and Gianluca Sultana (Zejtun) were all banned for one match.

In Division 2, Christian Cassar (Gudja) was handed a four-match ban, Samuel Vella (Siggiewi) was banned for three, Jason Good (Luqa), Clayton Borg (Mgarr) and Mauro Busuttil (Siggiewi) were suspended for two while Lesley Cassar Jackson (Birzebbuga), Shawn Borg (Fgura), Cleavon Portelli (Gudja) and Joseph Paul Zammit (Mgarr) were banned for one match. Siggiewi official Marc Sant was suspended for two matches.

Nigel Vella (Ghaxaq), Mark Saliba (Mdina) and Jordan Debattista (Mellieha) were suspended for one match in Division 3 while Msida kit-manager Elton Agius was banned for two matches.
