Valletta take sole leadership

Valletta took sole leadership as they defeated Hamrun Spartans 3-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday.

A win which puts Danilo Doncic’s side two points ahead of Balzan with two games to go. Valletta will be facing Floriana and Gzira in the final two matches while Balzan will be meeting Senglea and Hibernians.

Valletta took the lead on the 34th minute thanks to Kyrian Nwoko who received a pass just outside the area and with a low shot managed to beat goalkeeper Jake Galea.

Seven minutes later, Santiago Malano made it 2-0 with a shot from inside the area when served by Piciollo.

The Citizens increased the lead on the 77th minute when a shot by Rowen Muscat was blocked by the goalkeeper who collided with Michael Mifsud with the ball ending in the path of Kyrian Nwoko who hit home from close range.
