This year’s McDONALD’S FOOTBALLPLUS For Kids educational football programme for boys and girls, comes to an end this Saturday.

This final event will see the selection of a local child who will be participating as a Player Escort at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals, being held in Russia.

The McDonald’s FOOTBALLPLUS For Kids programme, now in its third year, is a Malta FA initiative aimed at enhancing the image of the game.

The Youth FA and McDonald’s play a key role in making this programme a success.

This year’s activities will reach a climax on Saturday when the final event is staged at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali. A total of 61 boys and girls have been shortlisted by the organisers from among hundreds of applicants.

One kid will earn the chance to go to the World Cup finals while the remaining 60 children will participate as Player Escorts in one of the Malta national team’s home matches in the inaugural UEFA Nations League, namely:

10th September, 2018 – MALTA vs AZERBAIJAN
17th November, 2018 – MALTA vs KOSOVO
20th November, 2018 – MALTA vs FAROE ISLANDS

Saturday’s programme will run as follows:

· 08.45hrs – Meeting at Centenary Stadium main entrance
· 09.00hrs – Registration of shortlisted kids
· 09.30hrs – Session 1 – Football & Fun Activities for the kids
· 10.15hrs – Short Break
· 10.30hrs – Session 2 – Football & Fun Activities for the kids
· 11.15hrs – End of fun activities + Short Break
· 11.30hrs – Start of Draws
· 12.00hrs – End of Activities.
