Hamrun Spartans continue to strengthen squad

Hamrun Spartans continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of more new players including Cameroonian striker Njongo Lobe Priso Doding.

The Spartans will be the sixth Maltese club for the twenty-nine year old Njongo Priso who played for Pembroke Athleta in Division 1 last season. After staring his career at AS Nancy in France, he moved to Malta where he played for Msida St. Joseph and Valletta before joining AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. He then played for CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria, Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania and ETO FC Gyor in Hungary before making a return to Valletta. He moved to Sliema Wanderers and after a spell with Ermis Aradippou in Cyprus, he joined Mosta, moving to Pembroke last season.

Uruguayan central defender Jorge Nicolás Pandiani Quaglia joins Hamrun after playing in Uruguay and Spain.  The twenty-four year old Nicolas Pandiani, son of former Uruguay international Walter Pandiani, played for CE Premia, Villareal and Atletico Baleares at youth level in Spain before moving to Uruguay to player for Miramar Misiones. He had another two spells in Spain with Marino Luanco and CF Masnou but returned to Uruguay to play for Miramar and later for Canadian SC. Earlier this year he joined Real Aviles CF in Spain.

Italian twenty-nine year old defender Samuele Romeo joins the Spartans after starting his career with Palermo and later playing for Lumezzane, Alessandria, Sorrento, Empoli, Juve Stabia, Mantova, AS Melfi, Latina and ASD Pomigliano.

Another signing is that of Argentine forward Carlos Hernan Henneberg. The 28-year old played Lanus, Atlanta, ndependiente, Fer Corrientes and Guemes in Argentina and Pioneros de Cancun in Mexico

The Spartans had also signed Greek defender Orestis Nikolopoulos. The twenty six year old central defender spent most of his career playing in Greece apart from a spell with Aradippou in Cyprus in 2016/17. In Greece, he played for Fostiras, Egaleo AO, Aittitos Spaton, AO Glyfada, AO Chalkis, Vyzas, Psachna, Aris Thessaloniki, AOT Alimos, Olympiakos Volos, PS Kalamata and AE Karaiskakis

Hamrun had earlier secured the services of Antonio Monticelli, Sebastian Nayar, goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo and defender Matthew Gauci.
