Brazilian striker for Hamrun Spartans

Hamrun Spartans continued to add new players to their squad after signing Brazilian striker Caetano Prósperi Calil.

Thirty-four year old Caetano Calil started his career with Sao Paulo and later played for Corinthians at youth level, Cruzeiro B, Santos B, Atletico Paranaense, Roma Esporte Apucarana, Avai and Ipatinga in Brazil before moving to Italy to join Siena who played in the Serie A at the time. The following season, he moved to Crotone and later played for Frosinone and Varese in the Serie B, Salernitana, Catania, Livorno and Siracusa in the Serie C. With Crotone, he had managed to score seventeen goals in the Serie B during season 2011/12.

Hamrun, now led by coach Giovanni Tedesco, had earlier secured the services of Enrico Pepe, Antonio Monticelli, Sebastian Nayar, Kevin Tulimieri, Gaetano Gallina, Walter Ruben Acuna, Francesco Marra, Njongo Lobe Priso Doding, Jorge Nicolás Pandiani Quaglia, Samuele Romeo, Carlos Hernan Henneberg, Orestis Nikolopoulos, Pietro Viggiani, Conor Borg, Matthew Gauci, Ryan Darmanin and goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo.
