Wanderers seek second win as they take on Old Firm rivals

Following an emphatic 3-0 win over Valletta in their first outing, Sliema Wanderers will be aiming for a second consecutive win as they take on Floriana at the National Stadium on Friday, kick-off at 19:00 in one of the three matches in programme.

The Blues were strengthened further this week with the arrival of two Mexican players apart from the fact that some of their new signings are yet to make their debut.

The Greens, on the other hand, lost 0-2 to Hamrun Spartans last week and are eager to bounce back with a win over their Old Firm rivals.

Meanwhile in the first match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, kick-off at 18:30, Senglea Athletic take on Mosta.

Both sides seek their first points after both suffered defeats last week. Senglea lost narrowly to newly-promoted Qormi while Mosta suffered a 1-3 defeat to St. Andrews.

Senglea hope to field new foreigners which they registered this week. Mosta, on the other hand, should have new signing Steve Bonnici available for selection.

In the second match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, kick-off at 20:45, St. Andrews take on Tarxien Rainbows. Like Sliema, St. Andrews seek a second win after beating Mosta 3-1 in their first outing, courtesy of a Kevaughn Atkinson hat-trick. Against Tarxien, they should have Karl Pulo making his first appearance after joining the club on loan from Gzira.

Tarxien, on the other hand, aim for a first positive result after losing 1-4 to Gzira last week. The Rainbows continued to strengthen their squad with the arrival of Daren Falzon, on loan from Naxxar.
