Mosta collect first three points

Mosta bounced back from the defeat to St. Andrews last week as they defeated Senglea Athletic 2-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.

For Mosta, coach Enrico Piccioni handed Alessio De Cerchio and Francesco Mazzavillani their debut while Zachary Brincat was named in the starting line-up. Senglea, on the other hand, had Salvatore Moccia, Imanol Gonzales, Mahamadou Cisse and substitutes Daniel Buckle and Manuel Guillari making their first appearance.

Mosta took the lead on the 8th minute thanks to Alessio De Cerchio who caught goalkeeper Philip Schranz out of place and lobbed the ball over the Senglea goalkeeper.

The Blues doubled the score just before the end of the first half when the Senglea rear-guard failed to clear a cross by Renan Oliveira and Massimo Sammartino hit home from close range.

Three minutes from time, Senglea were reduced to ten men after Noureddine Lachrah received a second yellow card.
