Valletta lost 4-3 to hosts Lučenec at the Športová hala Arena in Lucenec, Slovakia in the first match from the UEFA Futsal Champions League Main Round Group 8.

Mohamed Elamari put Valletta ahead on the 16th minute but Attila Fehervari equalised on the 18th. Camilo Gomez restored the lead for Valletta on the 27th but the hosts levelled matters through Gustavo Henrique Steinwandter on the 31st and Lučenec turned the score in their favour thanks to goals by Attila Fehervari two minutes later and Juraj Kuhajdik on the 35th. Dylan Musu reduced the gap in the dying minutes.
