Another heavy defeat for women’s Under-19 national team

The Malta women’s Under-19 side suffered a 6-1 defeat to Slovakia in another match from Group 1 of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship qualifiers at the Gradski stadion NK Podravina Ludbreg in Ludbreg, Croatia on Thursday.

Laura Žemberyová put Slovakia ahead on the 27th minute and just before half-time, Diana Lemešová converted a penalty to double the score. Viktória Kratochvílová made it 3-0 on the 70th and five minutes later, Desana Dianišková added another. Jana Barbara pulled one back for Malta on the 81st but Slovakia scored again through Katarína Niňajová on the 84th and Lucia Droppová on the 89th.

Malta faces hosts Croatia at the same venue on Sunday, kick-off at 11:00. Croatia lost 0-6 to Slovakia and 0-8 to England.
