Victoria Hotspurs make it four wins in a row

Champions Victoria Hotspurs made it four wins in a row as they defeated neighbours SK Victoria Wanderers 2-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Wednesday.

Elton Alexandre da Silva scored another two goals to increase his tally to eleven with goals on the 22nd and 66th.

Nadur Youngsters leapfrogged Munxar Falcons in second place after defeating them 6-0 in a direct clash on Tuesday. Shaun Attard opened the score on the 28th and three minutes later, Yuri de Jesus Messias made it 2-0. Just before half-time Marcelo Junior Barbosa scored a third goal. Seven minutes from time, Marcelo Junior Barbosa added another with Yuri de Jesus Messias scoring another two goals in the final five minutes.

Also on Tuesday, Xewkija Tigers defeated Gharb Rangers 2-1. Following a goalless first half, Darko Krstic put Xewkija ahead on the 52nd. Hugo Santa Rosa Cruz equalised on the hour but Daniel Bogdanovic converted a penalty on the 72nd to hand the Tigers the three points.

Meanwhile after being abandoned on the 45th minute on Friday due to the heavy rainfall, the clash between Ghajnsielem and Kercem Ajax was played on Monday. Kercem Ajax went two goals ahead thanks to Neto Pedro Mercandante Leite Do Canto on the 7th and a Felipe Augusto De Oliviera penalty on the 17th but twelve minutes from time, Luis Andre De Melo Lima pulled one back and James Tabone levelled matters in added time.
