Hermans calls squad for Northern Ireland Futsal friendlies

The Malta National Futsal Team is back in action next week with a double home friendly against Northern Ireland.

The games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday next week at the National School of Sport.

In late September Malta lost twice in friendly matches against The Netherlands, 7-2 and 8-0, but with the players in a better physical shape, all eyes will be on a far better result for our Futsal National Team in these two friendly matches.

With most Valletta players available and back following last month’s exploits with their club in the UEFA Futsal Champions League, for these two matches more options for National Team coach Vic Hermans before finally deciding his group of players.

Five new faces complete this provisional 16-man squad for the Northern Ireland double fixture, these are Andre Ciancio, Melvin Borg, Kurt Bartolo, Lee Grech and Gary Inguanez, who all missed out from last month’s double friendly defeat against the Dutch.

The provisional 16-man squad – Stefan Vella (Valletta), Clint Mifsud (Luxol), Matthew Attard (Luxol), Jovica Milijic (Valletta), Carl Azzopardi (Luxol), Mark Zammit (Luxol), Andre Ciancio (Swieqi), Andy Mangion (Luxol), Melvin Borg (Valletta), Dylan Musu (Valletta), Kurt Bartolo (Pieta), Rennie Tanti (Birkirkara), Giancarlo Sammut (Luxol), Lee Grech (University), Marwan Telisi (Birkirkara), Gary Inguanez (Birkirkara).
