The Malta Under-19 national team defeated Luxembourg 1-0 at the Stade an den Burwisen in Mertzig on Tuesday in the first of two friendly matches. 

Paul Mbong scored the all-important goal for Malta during the first-half. Captain Dejan Debono was sent off for two yellow cards 15 minutes into the second half.

Another friendly will be played on Thursday at the Stade um Dribbel in Bascharage.
