Futsal: First defeat for Swieqi United

In this week’s high profile match, reigning champions Valletta who are consolidating their optimum condition won 7-1 against Swieqi United who were unbeaten.

The Citizens scored an early goal through Gia Nikvasvili which paved way to a comfortable 5-0 lead by the end of the first half. Even though Swieqi United reacted quite well in the second half, this was not enough to stop the Lilywhites from scoring two more goals. Valletta’s score sheet included braces from Gia Nikvasvili and Mohammed Lamari, together with a goal apiece for Camilo Andres Gomez Vanegas Shawn Vella and Dylan Musu. Swieqi United refused to throw in the towel and scored the consolation goal thanks to their captain Dusan Rakic.
