Xghajra Tornadoes came from behind to beat Dingli Swallows 2-1 to keep the pace with leaders Zurrieq in a match from the BOV Third Division at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.

Christian Schembri put Dingli ahead on the 12th minute but four minutes later, Nestor Luis Silva Canas equalised and Royter Degiorgio converted a penalty to hand Xghajra the three points.

In another match, Gharghur registered a second win on the trot as they defeated Marsaskala by the odd goal in five. Domenico Marsala opened the score for Gharghur on the 25th minute but although Toraino Singleton equalised on the 61st, Gharghur regained the lead one minute later thanks to another goal by Marsala. Matthew Sciortino made it 2-2 on the 77th minute but Cain Saliba made it 3-2 four minutes from time. 

Zurrieq lead the way with 24 points, followed by Xghajra on 22, Dingli 18, Msida 17, Attard 16, Mdina 12, Kirkop 11, Ghaxaq and Gharghur 6, Ta’ Xbiex 5, Marsaskala 3 and Mtarfa 0.
